Breaking the Waves

In a small, conservative Scottish village, oilman Jan returns to his wife after an accident leaves him paralyzed. She had prayed for his return and is overwhelmed by guilt over what has happened. Their marriage is pushed into painful and unsettling territory when Jan urges her to have sex with another man, forcing her to confront devotion, desire and blame.
