Arkansas, 1875. After shooting five men to save a judge, Bass Reeves is sent into Indian Territory on the trail of lethal outlaw Bob Dozier. In the dangerous landscape of the late 1800s, Reeves pursues a notorious fugitive while stepping into a historic role as the first Black deputy marshal west of the Mississippi.
