Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
In 1927 Chicago, Ma Rainey, the trailblazing singer known as the Mother of the Blues, arrives at a recording studio with her band for a session that grows increasingly strained. As the musicians gather to capture her sound, pressure builds inside the room, turning the studio into a charged space where creative demands and personal tensions collide. Adapted from August Wilson’s play.
