Former police officer Darby Spencer and her mother, mystery novelist Victoria Spencer, have very different personalities, but they find themselves taking on an unlikely new venture together: a private detective agency. In Alder Bluffs, the pair are often mistaken for sisters as they work side by side to investigate puzzling cases.
